Pilates is a non-impact form of exercise which co-ordinates mind, body and spirit. Posture and alignment are improved by re-balancing, strengthening and lengthening muscles, creating lean, strong and flexible muscle control.
Deep core muscles are focused on, aiding in injury prevention and rehabilitation and stress and tension are reduced, through the use of breath and fluid movement.
After working in the photography industry, working long, fast paced days, Lucy recognized how exercise and physical movement was fundamental to her sense of well-being; Pilates being a key part of this. It felt like a natural progression for her to train as an instructor, so she could explore this fully.
Lucy loves how Pilates is so effective on many different levels and for such a wide range of people, from a remedial aspect through to a highly physical workout.
Lucy has worked in various studios in London including Alan Herdman and a physiotherapy clinic in Chelsea. She also Introduced Pilates to the Big Chill music festival this summer.
"Movement leads to a balance between mind and body. Whilst an awareness of individual muscle groups allows for controlled full body integration, exercise should be fun, creative and individual."
